Ohio-based registered dietician Dawn Weatherwax has seen athletes improve their speed and strength up to 15 percent with proper nutrition. Good eating also builds the immune system and helps athletes stave off or recover from injury, according to Weatherwax, who consults with athletes at all levels and was brought in to speak at Center Grove by athletic director Jon Zwitt the past two years.
"It's great for anybody, whether you're trying to gain muscle, lose body fat, have more energy (or) be more consistent," Weatherwax said.
